Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong Hai is photoperiodical rice which includes two rice varieties Khao Doak Mali 105 and Kor Khor or RD 15. Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong Hai is planted in the rainy season in the area of Thung Kula Rong Hai area which covering in 5 provinces of North-Eastern. Roi Et , Surin , Sisaket , Maharsarakham and Yasothon. It has been registered as a geographical indication since September 2007 and approved for geographical indication number is GI:50100022 . Nowadays Khao Hom Mali Thung Kula Rong Hai is in the processing of registration of geographical indications in the European Union. Geographical and natural assets allow Tung Kula Rong Hai to produce the highest quality jasmine rice in Thailand.
Organic jasmine rice is considered to be one of the most important crops of Thailand, especially Thai Hom Mali Rice (a Thai name for Jasmine rice to differentiate it from other sources).
The superior quality of jasmine rice from Thailand, combined with fully organic farming technology, results in organic jasmine rice that is truly safe from chemicals. Every step of the rice crop growing process is overseen to ensure that selected areas have not been previously cultivated with chemicals or that there is no chemical residue. Organic rice producers use seasonal rain, avoid using chemical fertilizers, and do not use insecticides and herbicides.
Simply stated, organic produce and other ingredients are grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms, or ionizing radiation. Animals that produce meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products do not take antibiotics or growth hormones.
